Mallorca 2026 Painting Holiday

September 9-13, 2026

(Early Bird discount until Apr 12, 2026)

Discover Palma de Mallorca's rich history, architecture and art as you stroll around the medieval quarter of this sun-drenched Mediterranean city. This vacation package is equal parts cultural experience and art class. You will enjoy 5 watercolour classes taught by Hazel Soan plus several demonstrations, and many sketching opportunities. We are looking forward to making art in good company. Average temperatures in Mallorca at this time of year are a high of 83-81°F (28°C) in the day and a night-time low of 64°F (18°C).

Meet Hazel Soan

She has exhibited worldwide and is remembered well as an Art expert on Channel 4’s popular daytime television programme Watercolour Challenge and for her two series’ of Splash of Colour, made by Anglia TV. Hazel is a bestselling author of numerous highly regarded art tutorial books. Hazel resides in London. Check out Hazel Soan on Wikipedia.

About Palma de Mallorca

Palma is a small island in the Mediterranean belonging to Spain. It was founded as a Roman camp upon the remains of a Talaiotic settlement, The city was raided several times, reconquered by the Byzantine Empire then colonised by the Moors (who called it Medina Mayurqa) and, in the 13th century, by James I of Aragon. We will explore and sketch the massive Santa María cathedral, a Gothic landmark begun in the 13th century, the adjacent Almudaina Palace, a Moorish-style Arab fortress converted to a royal residence, Bellver Castle, a medieval fortress with a distinctive circular shape and more.

When to Arrive?

Monday September 7, 2026

Welcome to Palma de Mallorca!  Your arrival date is your decision but we suggest you arrive by at least Monday September 7 so that you have time to settle in and possibly to adjust to a new time zone or the vagaries of travel which, as we know, could include a missed or delayed flight. Better to be relaxed at the start of your vacation workshop.

FAQs

Q: What will my spouse/travelling buddy do while I'm in my art class?

A: Your art class is your time and your spouse/buddy can take this time to explore each village on their own. They will see parts of the village, museums and cafes that you will not have time to see because you will be in your art class. At lunch you can share what you learned in your class and your spouse can tell you about what they discovered during their adventures.
