Update #1

Thank you for your deposit in our Venice Workshop featuring plein air watercolour classes with Sebastian Thommen. I am the vacation package organizer. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Below is some important info for you.

When Will We Greenlight?

This workshop is not greenlighted yet as we need 10 participants to greenlight. The deposit deadline is Dec 4, 2026. You will be alerted on or before the deposit deadline. Please don't make nonrefundable flight bookings before we greenlight.

Accommodations

Hotel accommodation is not included in this package but a group rate has been arranged at Hotel Meridiana on the island of Lido. A group rate of 185€ + tax (2.80€ per person per day) including breakfast has been arranged for a double room with single occupancy for a minimum stay of 7 nights. This hotel features generously sized rooms and a treed outdoor patio area (very rare at other Venetian hotels). It is a quiet, spacious haven after visiting the overcrowded main island.

This hotel offers free cancellation up to 75 days prior to arrival. The hotel will charge a 30% deposit during the first part of January 2027. This hotel is holding rooms for our group until Feb 15, 2027. More info about how to book a room will be sent to participants closer to the date.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE NOT OBLIGED TO STAY HERE. YOU CAN STAY AT ANOTHER NEARBY HOTEL OR AIRBNB ON THE ISLAND OF LIDO IF YOU PREFER.

When to Arrive

Your arrival date is your decision but we suggest you arrive by at least Saturday May 1, 2027 so that you have time to settle in and possibly to adjust to a new time zone or the vagaries of travel which, as we know, could include a missed or delayed flight. Better to be relaxed at the start of your vacation workshop. 

Buddy Discount 

If you invite a friend and we sell out with 15 participants you and your friend will each get a $50 discount in the form of a rebate after the start of the workshop.  This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount and it can only be applied to a Workshop participant ticket. 

What to Expect prior to the Start of Your Vacation Workshop

• A Greenlight announcement on or before Dec 4, 2026
• A Final Payment reminder on Jan 3, 2027
• A Trip Preparation email on Mar 4, 2027
• A Last Minute Detail email on Apr 26, 2027
