Rhodes is the fourth largest Greek Island in the southeastern Aegean Sea and a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Passing through the fortification walls that surround the old city is a step back in time to the middle ages when the Hospitaller Knights of St. John ruled the city for 200 years. Even further, Rhodes is dotted with ruins dating back to ancient times. The question is, where to start sketching first?

Located in northeastern Spain along the Mediterranean coast, Costa Brava is most well known for its beautiful beaches, rugged coastline and crystal-clear water. A day on the beach sketching and relaxing is not to be missed.

Still elegant, the crumbling facades and labyrinthian alleyways beg for us to explore and sketch. We can't help ourselves. We must poke our noses down every corridor, over bridges and under archways in our search for the quirky and elegant. Without question we will find it. 

Looking for artistic inspiration? If you’re an artist, sometimes you just need to get away. To relax, let your guard down, and soak in the beauty of a new place--the colours, the shapes, the textures, the patterns and the contrasts. These are the things that rejuvenate artists and inspire us.

Is there such a thing in Venice as "off the beaten path"? There sure is! And sometimes it's really nice to take a break and sketch in a spot away from other tourists.
