David Morales' Creative Cross Hatching Workshop

In this 2 hour online workshop presented LIVE you will sketch along with urban sketcher and architect, David Morales as he shows you how to create a beautiful and charming sketch using creative cross hatching.
Working with a reference photo of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, David will use cross hatching and a very limited splash of color to bring out values, depth and light contrast in his sketch. Students will get an over-the-shoulder view of David's sketch and can sketch along with him by using the reference photo provided.
David Morales is a Colombian architect and notebook artist who divides his time between Barcelona and his hometown Ibagué, Colombia. David feels deeply passionate about capturing the beauty in worldly things in his notebooks. His notebooks are inseparable from his travels and architecture work. David has been drawing daily since 2018 when he started an artistic project called “One Day One Drawing”.

Workshop Structure
This workshop is divided into 3 parts:
- Part 1--Pencil outline
- Part 2--Adding ink
- Part 3--Adding the colour

- how to use cross hatching to define shapes and depth
- how to see and draw the light in its various tonal values using black and white lines
- how to apply a light coloured wash for emphasis

- A5 size Sketchbook with cold press paper
