San Giovanni Lucca design by James Richards

A Tuscan treasure, Lucca’s Church of San Giovanni was built in the 5th century A.D., it’s classical façade providing a stunning backdrop to its lively piazza, and the site of nightly performances of the opera music of Lucca’s own Giovanni Puccini.  While waiting for the concert, this view offered me a chance to feature the façade and include adjacent towers that collectively conveyed my impression of the town’s stunning architectural character. A steady stream of onlookers approved.
