Working the Angles with Stephanie Bower
At the end of June we had the opportunity to learn about perspective from the master, super talented Stephanie Bower who taught a fun and challenging vacation workshop in historic Oxford, UK.
Every part of this charming town is sketchable and we had the chance to sketch cottages and chapels and theatres and cobbled streets.

We trekked down winding alleys to quaff our thirst in quirky bars. We peeked into sites where Harry Potter was filmed. And sketched with choir song wafting in the air.
We toured and sketched the Roman baths in Bath.
And walked in the footsteps of John Ruskin, CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, and Edmond Halley to name a few.
And, to our surprise, we even spotted former POTUS, Bill Clinton! Unfortunately for him, he didn't sign up for Stephanie's workshop in time and so he missed out on a great learning opportunity--his loss!
The history and magic of this place was on my mind as we sketched Stonehenge. Everyone wished we had more time there!
It was a great week and we feel very fortunate to have had the chance to spend time in this beautiful place with this great group of like-minded sketchers and to learn new skills under the careful instruction of super talented, Stephanie Bower.
Stephanie's next vacation workshop will be held in beautiful San Miguel de Allende, Mexico this February 27-March 2, 2024.
We're looking forward to sunny skies and the warm terra cottas and buttery yellows of this Spanish colonial town in the mountains. We hope you will join us! For more information click HERE.
